Integrated global digital campaign for Billabong
Collaborating with Billabong, we created a global digital campaign that asks surfing fans why they love to surf.
Design Royale worked with Billabong to help conceptualize the campaign, getting online users to visually and emotionally engage with the competition. Users are able to choose their best snapshots from the surfing videos and personalize their own wallpaper by ending the statement – “I surf because…” The wallpaper is submitted to Billabong for review and made available to share with friends.
The Billabong campaign successfully utilizes Facebook and Twitter to drive traffic and spread campaign awareness on a global level. Within the first month of going live the site picked up over 11,000 competition entries with an average time on site of nearly 6 minutes.
This resulted was not only a highly awarded campaign, but a campaign that had provided brand awareness and reach on a global scale.
The site was awarded FWA Site of the day in 2010.
